The ever popular FREE annual Eastside Studio Crawl is on. 

Organized by the Burns Visual Arts Society (45 years old this year) ... celebrates an inspiring studio crawl that is well attended in Ramsay and Inglewood with 10 locations - an exciting range of talented artists and cool studio spaces!

StoryBook Theatre: Diary Of A Wimpy Kid the musical

Bow Valley Film Tour 2024

The Bow Valley Film Tour is an annual event that features a collection of stories from the Bow Valley. 

This set of incredible films celebrates the spirit of the mountains, water, life, and dreams. 

The tour is organized in and around the Bow Valley region, sharing stories from the community and with the community. 

The tour includes films that highlight various aspects of outdoor adventure, mountain culture, environmental issues, and human life.

A small festival with big heart.

This year, we're embarking on some exciting new initiatives. We aim to integrate more diverse local art forms, making the festival more contemporary and localized.We will still have the film tour with several stops around the Bow Valley area, such as :

  • Canmore Artplace: August 8th & 10
  • Calgary Globe Cinema: August 31
  • Banff Lux Cinema: September 7
  • Cochrane Movie House:  August 22

Shumka's Ukrainka

The world premiere of Shumka's UKRAINKA: The Four Faces of Lesya Ukrainka celebrates the renowned Ukrainian artist, storyteller, poet, and humanitarian.

Lesya Ukrainka led a troubled life suffering from medical ailments that limited her physically, she lived vicariously through her art. She is a legend among the Ukrainian diaspora, and as a woman, is especially inspiring in a patriarchal culture.

Shumka’s newest production focuses on the “four faces” of Lesya Ukrainka – the dreamer, the traditionalist, the lover, and the leader. Her hope for Ukraine’s independence in a series of troubled times is as poignant as ever today.

Register Now for the SongBurst Adult Summer Choir!

SongBurst Adult Summer Choir is a non-auditioned week-long choir for adults. Choir members learn a variety of music together in a casual and supportive setting. In addition to daily rehearsals, participants have the opportunity to sign up for workshops and one-on-one vocal coaching. At the end of the week, the choir performs a wrap-up concert for family, friends, and fans, in collaboration with the SongBurst KIDS Summer Choir Workshop.

Alberta Old Buildings With Augmented Reality Experiences

Aeris Osborne, the 2022 Alberta Artist-in-Residence will exhibit the Alberta Old Buildings With Augmented Reality Experiences in the City Of Red Deer's Viewpoint Gallery from July 5 to August 30, the opening night and artist talk on July 5 (Fri) from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Discover Alberta Old Buildings paintings series with AR created by Edmonton visual artist, the 2022 Alberta Artist-in-Residence/ Art Ambassador Aeris Osborne in the City Of Red Deer's Viewpoint Gallery. All 20 pieces of artwork combined Arts, heritage, and technology.

Since early 2022, Aeris traveled over 3600km to research and meet up with the 10 Alberta Old Buildings’ owners, directors, curators, staff, and volunteers. Indeed, it allows her to better understand each building’s existing structure, history, and story to enrich the creation.

Therefore, famous buildings included the Red Deer Cronquist House, Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Calgary Lougheed House, Edmonton’s Alberta Government House, Jasper Information Centre, Lake Agnes Tea Houses, other museums, a railway station other heritage sites.

In spring 2023, Aeris accommodated a technology Augmented Reality (AR) into her 20 pieces of artwork, ultimately unveiling her creative process video & research photos by simply scanning with the free downloadable app – Artivive.
